We started with creating a DIY Trolls Birthday Party Craft Kit. We decided to create this for a family of 4 since the average family has this many members and everyone is at home right now due to the Stay Safe at Home Quarantine. We know several kids are still having birthday parties, but having to do them uniquely, virtually, and with technology. Kids aren't getting to have all of their friends at their house right now. But, in our neighborhood, we are still going to the back of the kid's house and singing Happy Birthday while keeping our social distance from other families and while wearing masks. The birthday kid is still wearing their birthday hat from their decks or yards and some are still calling their relatives and doing Zoom video conferences with their friends for this singing celebration. So, we thought, why can't we send the celebration to them with a Trolls themed twist with headbands, wristbands, and balloons? But, better yet, lets make it a craft kit so that families have something to do at home when they have completed all of their puzzles, played all of their games, hid in every hide n seek place possible in their house, ran out of chalk to draw on their driveways, and just need something else fun to do together! My daughter loves arts and crafts and was a big inspiration for this project! And, wah-lah, The Trolls DIY craft kit was created! This is a great kit for a birthday party, but it would be fun to even do and then gather with your family members or even video call your extended family and friends for either a birthday celebration or even just a Trolls movie watch party! You could even make the supplies and send to your friends and family for when they join you on your video call! So many fun ideas!

After, we started gathering the materials for our kits, something magical happened! We thought long and hard about how we would explain to the families on how to put these materials together to make the headbands, wristbands, and banners. My kids love to watch YouTube and seem to want to do alot of that these days. So, I surveyed my friends and neighbors and many said that their kids love to watch YouTube as well. Plus, my mom friends stated that any time they need to learn how to do something for the very first time, they turn to YouTube videos. Some also said that they like written instructions for something that they have completed before, but just need a quick refresher. So, we created both! We made "How To" DIY YouTube videos to go along with the written instructions that were placed in the kits. I have included our first video below on how to make a Princess Poppy Headband. So fun!
